World Environment Day - and other dates for your diary
With May being National Walking Month and with World Environment Day and Clean Air Day in June, it's the perfect opportunity for you to share some of your organisation’s climate commitments and inspire your community to take action to tackle climate change.
The Scottish Government’s Net Zero social media content will focus on these key calendar dates, while using the unifying theme of ‘seeking adventure’ to inspire the public to embrace sustainable living and see it as an exciting journey, not a sacrifice.
This involves highlighting the importance of driving less and instead exploring new routes to work by public transport and generally walking, wheeling or cycling more as a means of getting about. We’ll be showcasing real-life inspiring stories of people exploring sustainable ways of living and doing business in Scotland.
Here's how you can get involved:
Reshare World Environment Day posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Instagram with your network and encourage them to join the conversation. Here’s their social media content calendar so you can plan ahead.
Post about World Environment Day on the 5 June using our social media assets and suggested copy. Please refer to our guidelines.
Use our campaign hashtag #LetsDoNetZero to amplify your message and connect with like-minded individuals and organisations.
Share your own sustainable adventures and ideas. Your unique perspective can spark meaningful discussions and motivate others to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle.
Get in touch with us to share your stories and case studies, we’d love to hear what’s going on in your organisation.
Together, let's seek adventure and grasp the opportunity to explore a new reality, one that’s good for us and the planet.
Thank you for your commitment to making a difference on the journey to net zero.
