This is a free online (and in person) symposium on developing sustainable rural district heating systems in Scotland. Organised by Common Weal, Glasgow Caledonian University, and Heriot-Watt University, this event is funded by the Scotland Beyond Net Zero fund.
The event will feature experts from Denmark, an industry panel, and representatives from the Scottish Government, Consumer Scotland, South of Scotland Enterprise, the Scottish Islands Federation, and Common Weal. An opening address will be given by Sarah Boyack MSP.
People-powered action is seen as essential to unlock the potential of Danish-style district heating to provide cheap, renewable heat to Scottish households and tackle fuel poverty. Stakeholders, especially local communities! are encouraged to participate.
